Bowter Secures Order from Germany

The Arvika-based electric boat company Bowter is taking an important step onto the international market by expanding its operations to Germany. The company has already secured its first order for several boats to a tourist destination outside Leipzig. The deal marks the beginning of Bowter’s export initiative and forms part of the company’s long-term growth strategy.

– Having already secured a deal in Germany is a clear validation that our offering works internationally as well. This is an important first step, and we see significant opportunities to continue growing in the German market, says Jonas Ulveseth, founder of Bowter.

To support the expansion, the company has also brought in new investors. The capital will be used to strengthen sales efforts and support the establishment in the German market. One of the investors is entrepreneur and EQT Ventures partner Ted Persson.

– It’s very exciting to have Ted join us on this journey. He brings extensive expertise in digital technology, design, and company building, says Jonas.

The next step is to scale up sales in Germany and establish additional customer relationships over the coming year.

– We want to continue growing and evolving. Over several seasons, we have proven that the concept of frictionless boat rentals works well in the Swedish market. The interest and market potential exist on a much broader international scale. We are now looking at a larger funding round to scale the business and launch a fully developed complementary AI product. The timing is perfect, as regulations are accelerating the transition to fossil-free alternatives on inland waterways, Jonas continues.
