Win for MeCovers in the Shift finals

A great success for MeCovers during the Shift finals in Stockholm – after a successful pitch, the company won a large investment.

Ten companies had made it to the finals of Shift. MeCovers secured SEK 1 million in investment after convincing the jury, consisting of investors, that their business idea was worth the investment.

And it was a stunned and ecstatic Giselle Esse Olsson, one of MeCovers’ founders, that entered the stage to receive the grand prize of the evening. With the investment the goal is to reach a larger audience.

“This is hard to grasp. It’s absolutely fantastic. The goal is to increase sales and grow country by country. The challenge right now is to show the strong effects our product can have – so that even more people will build up the courage to seek healthcare”, she said on stage according to Breakit.

The Karlstad-based startup, MeCovers, has developed an innovative product that allows for privacy to be maintained during gynecological exams. Behind MeCovers, besides Giselle Esse Olsson, are Karin Vangstad and Helena Levin.

Pär Svensson, one of the investors on the jury, praised MeCovers’ business idea.

“An important and good idea that really has potential to take off, but also an idea that has come far enough for us to be able to evaluate the investment. I have never sat in a gynecological chair, but it is still easy to understand that it is a situation that one could feel uncomfortable in,” said Svärdson. Other investors on the jury were Anders Jacobson, Tommy Jacobson, Mikael Wintzell, Jennie Sinclair, Per Josefsson, Susana Meza Graham, and Joo Sundström.
